Baseball season ended with some spectacular tournament games. In Nathan's first play off game he hit is first ever home run but better yet it was a GRAND SLAM!!! The A's won their game and advanced to the semi-finals where they lost by one run. The team was disappointed due to the loss but even more so because it ended on a questionable call. We tried to reinforce good sportsmanship and a positive outlook on the season as a whole rather than how it ended. They still placed third in the league overall. We're so proud of Nathan and how well he did in his first season. Thank you to Ms. Todd (Nathan's teacher) for showing her support of Nathan and the A's the whole season. She attended most games and cheered "her Nathan" on.
T-Ball also had some very exciting play off games. Caleb's team, the Marlins, won their first play off game and advanced to the finals. After four innings, over two hours of play, tied at 20 -20, we lost day light and had to postpone the game until the following eveing where they would play sudden death. The following evening the Marlins lost the championship game by one run. They placed second in their group and received second place medals along with their league trophy.
It was a fantastic and exciting season for all of us but we're ready for a much needed break until soccer starts this fall.
